RUNNING STORIES

Disappearance at Beach to Beacon

Aug. 4th Cape Elizabeth, ME  - Last year it was the disappearing autograph of Kalid Kannouchi.  This year it is the case of the disappearing Champion Chip!  After  Rochester Runner's fastest runner, Nathan Huppe, crossed the finish line at the 4th Annual Beach to Beacon 10K, he bent down to retrieve and return his chip, only to find out it been stolen!  Somewhere along those 6.2 miles of the Maine Coast, it just disappeared.

Sorry Nathan, but I just couldn't let this good story get away untold.  Seriously though, Nathan ran a great race even if there is no official record of it.   He ran 34:22, a PR of 40 seconds from last year's time.  He would have finished in 60th place, just a step behind the elite female runner, Colleen DeReuck!  Great job Nathan!
